emoir in Storytelling Style

During World War 2 intelligence agents resorted to threats, subterfuge, coercion, and blackmail as tools to use in an effort to recruit unwilling individuals. In Will Bonner's case it took only one incident to propel him into a life of danger, and a continual quest for survival. After the war, arriving in Australia as an immigrant, his ambitions of a new life free of connections with the Intelligence community are dashed when he is contacted by an Australian agent who wants his electronics expertise. The result produces an ongoing involvement in the devious world of espionage.

willheadshouldersweb2About the Author

Will Bonner was born in the 1920’s and raised in a small village in the heart of the English countryside. His teen years were cut short by the onset of World War 2, and during that time he served at sea on ships bound for many parts of the world, and in oceans notorious for packs of German U-Boats, which were sinking ships at an alarming rate.

After the war Will returned home to stay with his family in England, and during that time he married. Deciding to take advantage of associations formed during his voyages to Australia Will and Dorothy emigrated there in 1950. They were amongst the many thousands who were seeking a fresh start in a young country far removed from the aftermath of the economic uncertainty caused by the war in Europe.

Settling down in Australia Will graduated as an Electronics Engineer. He had only just begun to form roots there, when he was contacted by Australian Intelligence. They wanted his electronics expertise. His thoughts of now being free of prior wartime experiences vanished, and assignments continued sometimes with a dangerous outcome. This eventually compelled him to leave Australia and take his family back to the safety of his birthplace in England

During his years back in England both his children married and they in turn immigrated to Canada. Will and Dorothy joined them in 1990.

Settling permanently in Niagara Falls, Will eventually found the stability and contentment to start writing his memoir.
